In the big world of thoughts, one question grabs our attention: Are we in a simulation? Is our world just a clever digital game made by someone else? Or is this just a fun idea without any proof?
Long ago, people relied on philosophy and religion to understand life. Science tagged along as a curious friend. But now, in our digital age, simulation isn't just a thought experiment. It's a real thing we use in science, gaming, and technology to mimic real life.
The Oxford dictionary defines simulation as : “a situation in which a particular set of conditions is created artificially in order to study or experience something that could exist in reality”[1].
In today's world, where virtual reality blurs the line between real and fake, comparing our reality to a simulated one seems pretty easy. Some bold thinkers, like Elon Musk, suggest we might be characters in a cosmic video game, unaware of our creators[2]. And scientists, like Dr. Melvin Vopson, are seriously trying to find out if we're in a simulation[3].
But let's go deeper. Religion has talked about the idea of continuous creation for ages. It says God keeps making the world anew every moment. It's like a constant reboot of existence.
Ever since the Torah (bible) was revealed on Mount Sinai, Jews have spoken the phrase "Hear, O Israel, the L-rd is our G-d, the L-rd is One" twice a day. And there is a statement that reads, "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who forms light and creates darkness, who makes peace and creates all things," just before this is said[4].
To suggest that our universe is purposefully designed, if there is a Creator, is no more subtle than calling it a simulation. It is comparable to creating things digitally.
Let us take a leap of faith and realize that every bit, byte, and atom in the world is continually directed by the greatest "programmer" of all time, who only asks that we acknowledge and express our gratitude to Him.
